Director Shin Moriwaki
Dr. Shin Moriwaki is the director of AVAN TOKYO Ginza Liposuction Clinic in Ginza, Tokyo. Focusing on liposuction and fat-transfer / hybrid breast augmentation, he has performed more than 5,000 procedures as a cosmetic surgeon (including previous positions). At our clinic, the same doctor handles consultation, surgery and post-operative follow-up for each procedure.
Philosophy
Cosmetic surgery is medicine. Liposuction and breast augmentation require comprehensive competence: anatomy, systemic management and surgical technique. We provide cosmetic surgery as medical care, not for the evaluation of others, but to raise the satisfaction and happiness of each patient’s own life.
The result of liposuction is decided not by how much is removed but by what is left and how adjacent areas are blended. Marking is done standing; after checking the skeleton, skin condition and fat distribution, the suction layer and cannula are chosen per area, and the design avoids steps at the borders. In the face, the cheeks and chin are not treated separately: the line from around the ear to the chin and neck is designed as one continuous contour.
Risks (swelling, bruising, contracture, asymmetry, irregularities) and the limits of indication are always explained at consultation. Results vary between individuals.

The director handles consultation, surgery and post-operative check-ups. For extensive surgery, an anesthesiologist may manage general anesthesia. Liposuction is performed with cannulas; an ultrasound device that softens fat (LSSA, ‘Elsa’) can be added as an option.
