This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Baker Gordon Symposium. Medical treatments performed in the United States, including aesthetic medicine, are often 2–3 years ahead of other regions.

Of course, when it comes to delicate surgical techniques, Japanese surgeons are often known for their precision and meticulous approach.

However, in recent years, rib remodeling surgery, which has become increasingly popular in South America, is also beginning to gain wider recognition in the United States.

A procedure that creates a more defined waistline by adjusting the angle of the ribs may take another 1–2 years before becoming mainstream in Japan.

Nevertheless, attending one of the world’s leading conferences in body contouring allowed me to expand my knowledge, and I look forward to applying what I learned to further improve treatments at our clinic.
