Circumferential upper arm, armpit and accessory breast liposuction with arm thread lift, before and after (back view), 40-year-old woman, 1.5 years after surgery

A 40-year-old woman. She was concerned about the thickness of her upper arms, the fullness around her armpits (armpit fat and accessory breast area) and the looseness of the back of her arms, so we performed liposuction of the circumferential upper arms (back of the arms, shoulders and front) together with the armpit fat and accessory breast area, and also inserted 12 threads for a thread lift in the upper arms. The photos show her from behind with her arm raised to the side, before surgery and 1.5 years after surgery.

When fat remains on the shoulders, the front of the arms or around the armpits, the base of the arm can still look thick even if only the back of the arm is slimmed. In this case, we treated the whole circumference of the upper arms in a balanced way and also removed fat from the armpit and accessory breast areas, aiming for a continuous line from the shoulders through the arms to the armpits. Because she was also concerned about loose skin, we added a thread lift to support the skin in a lifting direction.

The procedure was performed under general anaesthesia (intravenous plus inhalational anaesthesia), with a total of 1,000ml of tumescent solution infiltrated into the upper arms and armpit area. A total of 675ml of fat was removed. The incisions are six small ones, at both elbows and at the front and back of both armpits. After surgery, she wore a compression garment (bolero) for the upper arms.

In the photo 1.5 years after surgery, the line of the back of the upper arms looks more streamlined, the contour from the elbow to the armpit is closer to a straight line, and the arm as a whole appears slimmer.

At 1.5 years after surgery, swelling and firmness of the treated areas (contracture) have settled. The final result, recovery time and the degree of swelling, bruising and oedema vary from person to person. The treatment area, volume and number of threads depend on body shape and skin condition, so please start with an examination and consultation.
