Regenerative Medicine for Joint Pain
in Ginza
AVAN TOKYO Ginza is a clinic in Ginza 1-chome, Tokyo. Our joint regenerative medicine treats pain in the knee, shoulder, elbow, ankle and other joints by injecting stem cell culture supernatant derived from adipose stem cells into the joint.
Joint examinations and injections are performed by Dr. Moriwaki, the clinic director, and Dr. Nanko, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon. We are a 1-minute walk from Ginza-itchome Station and offer consultations in English, Chinese and Vietnamese.
We Review Your Pain History and
Previous Treatment First

At the first consultation, we ask where it hurts, how long the pain has lasted, and what treatment you have had so far (such as pain patches, oral medication, rehabilitation or hyaluronic acid injections). The doctor then examines you and explains whether the injection is suitable, what can be expected, and the risks.
We also explain the fees and the expected number of visits before treatment. Treatment begins only after you are satisfied with the explanation.
What Is Stem Cell Culture Supernatant?

Stem cell culture supernatant is a liquid containing cytokines, exosomes and other components secreted while stem cells are cultured. We use culture supernatant obtained from adipose-derived stem cells. The cells themselves are not injected.
Injected into the joint, it aims to reduce inflammation and support tissue repair. Results vary from person to person. This is elective (self-pay) treatment, so health insurance does not apply.
Main Joints Treated

- Knee (such as knee osteoarthritis)
- Shoulder (such as frozen shoulder or rotator cuff injury)
- Elbow and wrist (such as tennis elbow or golfer’s elbow)
- Ankle, hip and other joints
We inject into the joint under ultrasound guidance or by palpation, adjusting the dose to the size and condition of the joint.
Who Consults Us

We are consulted by people whose pain has not changed despite continued hyaluronic acid injections, people who have been advised to have surgery and want to consider other options, and people who find climbing stairs or raising their arm painful.
Depending on the condition of the joint, another treatment such as surgery may be more suitable. In that case, too, we will tell you based on the results of the examination.
International Patients Are Welcome
