Circumferential Upper Arm Liposuction | 3 Months After (21-Year-Old Female)2026.07.12
We would like to introduce a case of circumferential upper arm liposuction (the “batwing” area, shoulders, and the front of the upper arms) performed on a 21-year-old female patient. The photos show her progress 3 months after surgery.
In this case, approximately 1,050 cc of pure fat was removed from the entire circumference of the upper arms. By treating the batwing (back of the arm), shoulder, and front of the upper arm as one continuous line, we created a slim, clean contour from shoulder to wrist that looks natural from every angle.
The upper arm is an area from which a good amount of fat can be removed, but when a large volume is taken at once, the skin can become slightly loose, resulting in temporary mild sagging. When more than 800 cc is removed, even patients in their early 20s may show slight looseness in the batwing area, and in this case some very mild looseness can be seen at the 3-month mark.
If the skin laxity becomes a concern, many patients choose to add skin-tightening treatments such as an upper-arm thread lift, Morpheus8 Body Burst, or Profound Matrix. Whether additional tightening is needed is something we propose after observing the recovery during examination.
Liposuction reduces the number of fat cells, making rebound unlikely, but the degree of skin contraction and tendency toward sagging vary from person to person. Please consult our doctor regarding the volume to be removed, the desired result, and whether skin-tightening is needed.
