Contributing Author to FACE IN HARMONY, an International Textbook on Facial Rejuvenation2026.07.14
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Shin Moriwaki, Director of AVAN TOKYO, has contributed as an author to the international medical textbook “FACE IN HARMONY – A Rejuvenation Encyclopedia Across the Globe.”

Dr. Moriwaki was invited to write the chapter on facial liposuction, focusing on the principles of safe and anatomically based facial contouring.
This textbook brings together the expertise of more than 90 specialists from over 62 countries, covering facial anatomy, rejuvenation techniques, aesthetic surgery, injectable treatments, and energy-based devices.
Writing About Facial Liposuction Based on Anatomy
The chapter emphasizes that facial liposuction is far more than simply removing fat.
Successful facial contouring requires a thorough understanding of facial anatomy, including the relationship between fat compartments, retaining ligaments, muscles, nerves, blood vessels, and salivary glands.
Rather than maximizing fat removal, the goal is to determine:
- Which fat should be removed
- Which fat should be preserved
- How to create smooth, natural facial contours
- How to minimize the risk of complications through precise anatomical knowledge
Our Philosophy at AVAN TOKYO
At AVAN TOKYO, facial liposuction is planned individually for each patient.
We evaluate facial bone structure, fat distribution, skin quality, ligament support, and soft tissue characteristics to achieve natural, balanced facial contours while prioritizing patient safety.
It is a great honor to contribute to this international publication, and we remain committed to applying the latest anatomical knowledge and surgical techniques to provide the highest standard of patient care.
