Circumferential Upper Arm, Armpit & Accessory Breast Liposuction | 23-Year-Old Woman, 6 Months After

A 23-year-old woman. She was concerned about the thickness of her upper arms and the fullness around her armpits (armpit fat and accessory breast area), so we performed liposuction of the circumferential upper arms (back of the arms, shoulders and front) together with the armpit fat and accessory breast area at the same time. The photos show her from the side, before surgery and 6 months after surgery.

When fat remains on the shoulders, the front of the arms or around the armpits, the base of the arm and the area around the armpits can still look bulky even if only the back of the arm is slimmed. In this case, we treated the whole circumference of the upper arms in a balanced way and also removed the armpit fat and accessory breast fat, aiming for a continuous line from the shoulders through the arms to the armpits.
The procedure was performed under general anesthesia (intravenous plus inhalational anesthesia), with 1,000ml of tumescent solution infiltrated into the upper arms and armpit area. A total of 700ml of fat was removed, and the operation took about 55 minutes. The incisions are six small ones, at both elbows and at the front and back of both armpits. After surgery, she wore a compression garment (bolero) for the upper arms.
In the photo 6 months after surgery, the front and back lines of the upper arm are closer to straight, and the arm looks slimmer from the shoulder to the elbow. The fullness at the front of the armpit is also less noticeable, giving a cleaner line from the chest to the arm.
At 6 months, swelling and firmness of the treated areas (contracture) have generally settled. The final result, recovery time and the degree of swelling, bruising and oedema vary from person to person. The treatment area and volume depend on body shape and skin condition, so please start with an examination and consultation.

Risks and side effects
Liposuction may cause swelling, bruising, pain, edema, skin irregularities or tightness, asymmetry, pigmentation, and scars at the small incision sites. Rarely, complications such as infection, hematoma, numbness, or reduced sensation may occur. On the upper arms, shoulders, and back, skin laxity, rippling, or a pulling sensation may occur.
These symptoms may occur during recovery and most improve over time, but their severity and the recovery period vary from person to person. If you have any concerns, please consult your doctor rather than judging for yourself.
