Full-Circumference Upper Arm Liposuction (Revision) | 1,000cc Pure Fat Removed, 5 Months After (Woman in Her 20s)2026.07.28
We would like to introduce a case of full-circumference upper arm liposuction (back of the arm, shoulder, and front of the upper arm) performed on a woman in her 20s. She had previously undergone upper arm liposuction at another clinic, and this time she underwent revision liposuction at our clinic. The photos show the surgical marking just before the procedure and the condition 5 months after surgery.
Fat on the upper arm accumulates not only on the back of the arm but also around the shoulder joint and the front of the upper arm. Treating only one part can leave an unnatural fullness in the overall contour, so in this case we planned the procedure to cover the full circumference of the upper arm, including the back, shoulder, and front.
Areas that have already undergone liposuction may develop adhesions and fibrosis in the subcutaneous tissue. Adhesions restrict the path of the cannula and make it easier for unevenness in fat thickness to remain, which makes revision more difficult than a first-time procedure. During marking, we checked the fat thickness and skin pinch with the arm both raised and lowered, and performed the suction with careful attention to the tissue layers.
In this procedure, 1,000cc of pure fat — not including anesthetic solution or blood — was removed. However, the larger the volume removed, the higher the risk of skin laxity and surface irregularities. We leave a certain thickness in the superficial layer beneath the skin, but skin contraction ability varies between individuals, so undergoing surgery at a lower BMI is generally more favorable in terms of skin retraction.
At 5 months after surgery, the swelling and bruising have settled and a change can be seen in the contour of the arm when lowered. Results and recovery time vary from person to person, and for revision procedures in areas that have previously undergone liposuction, it is especially important to assess the tissue condition carefully beforehand.
